Alice and Kory had an intimate destination wedding in Copper Harbor, Michigan over the July 4th weekend. Their day started off in Toivola, Michigan, as their family and friends helped them prepare. Everyone was so friendly and relaxed! I immediately felt at home as I documented the details Alice had carefully prepared.

From Toivola, we headed up to the top of Brockway Mountain. We were all prepared to improvise with whatever the weather conditions would be at the top! The Keweenaw Peninsula can vary so much in temperature and conditions, and is affected by the surrounding Lake Superior. Since there had been heavy fog the day before, I was half expecting the top of Brockway Mountain to be covered in fog, but as we drove up, there was bright sunshine and a perfect view of the shoreline below! And it was HOT- in the low 80’s, which was also a surprise!

Alice and Kory shared a private moment before we all gathered for the ceremony. This is their happy place, and I’m so thankful they were blessed with such a beautiful day!

Kory and his friends had set up a handmade arbor at the top of Brockway Mountain. The couple’s relatives and friends gathered around, and Alice was glowing as her dad walked her up to meet her groom!

Alice and Kory’s pup was the first to run up and congratulate the newlyweds!

We captured a group photo of all Alice and Kory’s family and friends that had come to celebrate with them, complete with one of Alice’s favorite backdrops. Then it was the wedding party’s turn to surround and congratulate the bride and groom!

Then it was time for Alice and Kory to enjoy some portraits in their favorite spots. We drove around for an hour or so, visiting various spots around Copper Harbor. Despite being over 80 degrees in full wedding attire, they never stopped smiling!

As we drove away from Copper Harbor and headed down the west side of the peninsula, the most refreshing breeze started blowing off the chilly Lake Superior water!
